Well, we are done with the waiting for my daughter’s arrival. She made it yesterday shortly before 5 in the afternoon. I do not have the ability some do to see who a newborn most looks like, but I had to laugh when (upon receiving the very first picture of her in precisely the same email) two of my friends congratulated me: one because she looks nothing like me, the other because she looks very much like me.

On the other matter of waiting (for Chapter 2 of Dark Candle), we’ll need to do a bit more of that. We do indeed make progress, as Doodle noted last week, but it takes time to keep the quality where we want it.

Congratulations are in order to Woody and his wife (and other family as well). Glad to hear that the newborn made it yesterday afternoon–as Matt Mulder and I were here in my studio yesterday morning discussing things and both wondered why we hadn’t heard much out of Woody in the past week or so. Now we know.

As for my contributions to Dark Candle go–I have been slowed down for several weeks by what seems to have turned out to be a minor throat infection. Not quiet a virus and not quite a bacteria (sort of like Pneumonia, but not that serious) it just kept holding on and completely wearing me out, so that a day at the drawing board was nearly impossible. A round of antibiotics has been started and I’m feeling much better already.

If it’s any consolation, the pages are looking pretty good from my vantage point. I’ll do my best to get them in front of you as soon as possible.
