I think this is one of the better pages so far in terms of pacing and matching the conversation to the actions of the characters. It helps that the dialogue is borne by strong shared emotions, if the genesis of those emotions may not be precisely the same.

I totally agree – I’ve always admired the pacing as well as the spacing of words and figures in Dark Candle, but those are especially well-done in this update I think. I also like how the characters get closer together as the conversation gets more intense. Always nice to see something I can learn from for my own comic

Koad, My thanks as well. I’ve always taken an actor’s approach to my comics, but none moreso than Dark Candle. So it’s really nice when someone notices! This may be my favorite page out of the chapter for the “acting” of the characters. Great that you picked up on the subtle tension I was trying to build between them.
